Propulsion and Services

2 x Ford Lehman 6 cyl 120hp (hours approx: 1239 & 1276). Borg Warner ‘Whisper Drive’ Hydraulic gearboxes. Conventional A & P brackets, bronze 22” propellers. Port engine has had a new crankshaft seal 2014, fuel filters changed 2016. Stbd engine needs impellor changed, all held. Engine oils were tested and analysed in 2012, reports retained.

Cruises economically at around 7 knots with a top speed of 9kts. Fuel consumption is around 3 gal per hour at cruising speed.   RACOR fuel/water separator pre-filters fitted. Fuel tanks replaced 2013 with new SS centreline tanks x 3 - Capacity 430L. Port engine cooling system overhauled 2019. Both engines changed of oil/filters 2019.

Batteries (SLA) new in 2022. 2 x service 110AH, 2 x starter 170AH and a manually switched 1000W ‘Intelligent’ inverter. 12V DC and 230 VAC system charged by engine alternators and Victron ‘Centaur’ 20A battery charger. Shore power cable. Solar PV regulator fitted but no panels.

Eberspacher D2 heater with separate fuel tank (not checked recently), Truma Solenoid valve with remote switch (disconnected) for Spanish LPG gas bottles.


2 x stainless steel freshwater tanks (approx 500L each) feeding a H&C pressurised system. 40L HW calorifier/boiler fitted 2013, also runs off engine.
New auto electric shower sump pump 2020.
